May 2014: Eric Clark Attends The 2014 Apartment Internet Marketing Conference.

Eric Clark, Director of Marketing attended the 2014 Apartment Internet Marketing Conference in Huntington Beach, from May 5-7 2014.

AIM is the only multifamily industry conference that focuses exclusively on:

  • Internet marketing, advertising and branding
  • Lead tracking
  • Social media
  • Web technology and applications
  • Mobile platforms
  • Online leasing and the customer experience
  • Resident retention and communication

It is the most detailed and informative event in the industry and attendance is limited to executives who own and operate multifamily communities.

Eric was chosen as a representative from the Altman Companies to discuss ‘Empowering Consumers via Integrated Marketing' at the AIM conference.

Feb 2014: Altman Companies to Build a 239-Unit Mixed-Use Rental Development in Hillsborough County, Florida

Boca Raton, Florida-based The Altman Companies announced they have closed on 10-acres in the Westchase area of Tampa with close proximity to downtown and Clearwater. Construction on the 239-unit mixed-use Altis at Highland Park rental community is scheduled to start right away with first units to be delivered in July 2014.

Lender for the development is PNC Bank.

The apartment community will feature a mix of studios, one, two and three-bedroom apartment homes and 5,000-square-feet of retail. The apartments will have exceptional, high quality amenities and finishes, including designer style kitchens and baths, vessel sinks, upgraded cabinetry and lighting, granite countertops, energy efficient appliances, programmable thermostats and 100% energy efficient lighting. Select apartments will also feature private entries and direct access garages along with wood faux flooring throughout the living areas.

According to Joel Altman, Chairman of The Altman Companies, Altis at Highland Park will provide residents with a private, resort-style 5,600-square-foot clubhouse that will include a movie theater with surround sound, a state-of-the-art fitness center, a cyber cafe, and clubroom. The pool area will feature a resort-style pool with sundeck, a pool pavilion with outdoor demonstration kitchen, a bar and barbeque grill. Separate recreational amenities will include barbeque areas, outdoor tables for dining, a dog park, a children's playground and a community garden.

One of the leading multifamily developers in the United States, The Altman Companies this year held a grand opening of Altis at Grand Cypress, a 258-unit development in New Tampa, Pasco County, Florida. Altis at Grand Cypress, located on 60 acres on the west side of Livingston Road and south of Highway 54 in the rapidly growing New Tampa Wesley Chapel area, is 98% leased. Phase II consisting of 46 additional units is currently under construction with the first units being delivered in January 2014.

Altman is also currently developing three South Florida rental apartment communities.

Altis at Coconut Creek, a 270-unit rental development in Coconut Creek, recently delivered the models, first and second buildings and is expecting to complete two additional buildings in the coming weeks. Altis at Coconut Creek is currently 33% pre-leased.

Additional new developments under construction are Altis at Sheridan Village, a 300-unit eco-friendly rental community inPembroke Pines and Altis at Kendall Square, a 321-unit mixed-use community in Kendall, with preleasing starting in late 2013 and first occupancy in 2014.

Feb 2014: Eric Clark Attends 2014 Multi-Family Social Media Summit.

Eric Clark, Director of Marketing attended the 2014 Multi-Family Social Media Summit in Santa Rosa, CA at the Hyatt Vineyard Creek Hotel from January 29-31 2014.

Eric was chosen as a guest speaker to discuss ‘Overcoming Social Media Challenges in Property Management'. The summit consisted of multifamily industry executives, owners, developers, asset managers and marketing professionals. It is the premiere conference and event highlighting the benefits of social media and content marketing in the multifamily industry. “I think it is wonderful that a venue like this is available for our industry” said Clark of the conference which focuses on educating attendees on ways to retain and attract new residents by leveraging blogging and social marketing.

The sessions included a mix of business and technical topics for executives discussing how to incorporate blogging and social media for an effective overall marketing strategy. “I am always inspired by the creativity of my peers as we continue to refine our platform and look at new ways to adopt best practices into a successful multi-channel strategy. It is clear that today's customer is changing, evolving and gaining a greater sense of awareness that as an owner / operator we must become more sensitive and responsive to.” said Clark.

The next conference will be held at the Meritage Resort & Spa in NAPA, CA in 2015.

Jan 2014: Altman Companies To Build 300-Unit Rental Development in Pembroke Pines, FL.

Altis at Sheridan Village to Showcase Innovative Eco-Friendly Features.

Boca Raton, Florida-based The Altman Companies today announced they have closed on 34-acres in western Pembroke Pines and will start construction on Altis at Sheridan Village.

The 300-unit leading edge apartment community, featuring a mix of one, two and three-bedroom apartments, will offer lake and wetland preserve views along with a resort style clubhouse with beach entry pool and spa, pool activities pavilion with fireplace, TV's and outdoor kitchen, cabanas, playground, beach volleyball court, dog park with bathing station, soccer field, a jogging/walking path, vast amount of open space, and a unique opportunity for residents to grow their own organic vegetables and herbs on 10' x 10' plots complete with a composter. The new community will be located on Sheridan Street, just west of I-75.

Altman emphasized that the eco-friendly design of Altis at Sheridan Village incorporates the creation of a 10.5 acre pristine wetlands with planting of native trees and flowering lilies to replace the non-native, invasive Melaleuca trees that now populate the site.

Development lender is BB&T and equity partner is Sarofim Realty Advisors.

Jan. 2013: Altman Companies To Build a 321-Unit Rental Development in Kendall, FL

Boca Raton, Florida-based The Altman Companies announced they have closed on 24.6-acres in Kendall Square at West Kendall Drive in Miami-Dade County. Construction is scheduled to start immediately with first units to be delivered in the fourth quarter of 2013.

Lenders for the Development are TD Bank and Behringer Harvard. Bradley Associates and BBX Capital are the equity partners.

The spectacular 321-unit apartment community will feature a mix of one, two and three-bedroom apartment homes and 6,000 square feet of retail. Many of the apartment homes will offer breathtaking lake views, and residents will have a membership in their own club with a private resort style 5,000 square foot clubhouse, which will offer exciting features to our residents for recreation and business. Other amenities will include a pool and spa, an outdoor activities pavilion with sports bar and demonstration kitchen, cabanas overlooking the lake, playground, beach volleyball court, dog park with bathing station, and a unique opportunity for residents to grow their own organic vegetables and herbs on 10' x 10' garden plots complete with a composter.

The community, according to Joel Altman, Chairman of the Altman Companies, features an urban design based on traditional neighborhood master planning with emphasis on pedestrian traffic featuring wide sidewalks, front porches, parallel parking, and one-way streets. The neighborhood design is anchored by a large, 80-foot-wide, heavily landscaped promenade with flowering trees and plazas with water features, trellises and benches. The promenade ends at a two-acre park with a soccer field and a large obelisk surrounded by tall oak trees.

“It reminiscent of what you would find in some of the finer European cities,” said Altman.

Both communities are located in Broward County, Florida.

Oct. 30, 2012: Altman Plans Another Florida Apartment Property

Pembroke Pines, Fla.—The Altman Cos. has unveiled plans for Altis at Sheridan Village, a 300-unit apartment property on 34 acres in western Pembroke Pines in Broward County. Development lender for the project is BB&T, while the equity partner is Sarofim Realty Advisors.

Joel Altman, chairman of the Altman Cos., tells MHN that now is a good time to undertake the development, “since so little has been developed in the last four to five years. Even before the recession, a large part of the local stock of apartments was converted into condos, so between those two factors, there aren't enough apartments to meet demand.”

The property will feature a mix of one-, two- and three-bedroom apartments, and will offer lake and wetland preserve views, along with a resort-style clubhouse with pool and spa. Other common amenities include a playground, beach volleyball court, dog park with bathing station, soccer field and a jogging/walking path.

Altman also emphasizes the greenness of the property. Among other things, the design incorporates the creation of 10.5 acres of wetlands, with the planting of native trees and flowering lilies to replace the non-native, invasive Melaleuca trees that now populate the site. This isn't the first push by Altman to take advantage of the current dearth of apartments in Florida. Last year the company started Altis at Grand Cypress, a 258-unit development planned for New Tampa in Pasco County, and construction is nearing completion on that project. The company also recently broke ground at Altis at Coconut Creek, a 270-unit rental development near the Promenade Shopping Center, and is planning a new rental property in Kendall in Miami-Dade County, which will start in December.
